What to Expect During Your Initial PT Visit

Your first visit is a detailed, 1-on-1 evaluation with a licensed physical therapist. We take the time to understand your health history, pain points, goals, and movement patterns to uncover the true cause of your dysfunction — whether it’s pain, limited range of motion, instability, or weakness. The evaluation includes:

Range of motion and strength assessments

Functional movement screening

Identification of muscle imbalances, joint restrictions, or postural issues

Goal setting based on your condition, lifestyle, and performance needs

Creation of a personalized treatment plan

What’s Included in Your Treatment Plan

Based on your unique evaluation results, we’ll build a plan that may include:

A customized home exercise program to reinforce progress between visits

Manual therapy to restore joint and soft tissue mobility

Targeted techniques to reduce short-term pain or dysfunction, including:

Dry needling

Massage therapy

Cupping therapy

Electrical stimulation

Kinesiotape application

Our evidence-based treatments are designed to reduce pain, restore mobility, and improve overall function — so you can get back to doing the things you love, faster.

Direct Access in Illinois

Illinois allows patients to see a physical therapist without a referral. However, in compliance with Illinois direct access law, a summary of your evaluation will be sent to your physician of choice for medical record continuity and coordination of care.

Are you a golfer who would like to level up their game? Complete a 16 point Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Golf Assessment to learn how your body is affecting your efficient swing pattern. This is perfect for any golfer who wants some direction to work on their off season game, who is not currently in any pain, but who deals with occassional flare ups that keeps them from playing as often as they would like. Learn how restrictions or limitations in mobility and strength in key areas can cause the most common swing faults, and how you can address them. Often we work with your coach (if you have one), to discuss your biggest limitations in your game. And through the TPI Assessment, we can develop an exercise program you can do at home to address the biggest impairments.

She started her career after graduating from Boston University with Honors in their accelerated Master of Physical Therapy program. She was an avid ice skater, track and field sprinter, and cross-country runner through her college years, whilst working hard to polish her Physical Therapy skills. Since graduating from Physical Therapy school, her focus has always been on working closely with orthopedic physicians to either help patients avoid surgery or recover successfully from surgery. Her passion for physical therapy started from being a patient herself. At a young age. she had a minor knee injury that was successfully rehabilitated with a great PT. Throughout the last 26 years, she has trained and received advanced certifications including Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), Dry Needling, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), TPI Level 1 Certified Golf Fitness Assessment Specialist, Cupping, Kinesiotaping, Certified Run Coach (RRCA), and a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist.
